Please help, i was using vista home premium and all was well, then aero
stopped working. i have not knowingly changed anything. can any one please
help? i have tried resetting the properties to aero but it keeps defaulting
back to windows basic.

A wild guess:

sfc /scannow. If you try this, remember to launch the Command Prompt as an
Administrator before you run sfc /scannow.

Hi thanks, the trouble shooting page worked, through an elimination process
it turned out to be 1 of 2 startup programs.
